Hey Terry - seems like we’ve had quite a streak of brown Christmas’s here in Cedar Rapids. I’m thinking this year will be the sixth consecutive one. Do you have any history on the longest stretch of not having a white Christmas in Cedar Rapids? Btw, love the site and your content!

Hey thanks for the nice words. Amazingly we have had snow cover more than you think Christmas day, especially in recent years. Your recollection of warm Decembers is on track but not the snow. As recently as 2017 we had an inch and in 2016 we reported 3 inches at 6am Christmas morning. The longest stretch I could find going back to 1895 was 5 years without at least an inch. I thought it might be longer. The long term odds are close to 50 percent of having a white Christmas. Now we both know! TS
