YOUR MID-DAY WEATHER BRIEF
The snow has pushed out of my far northern counties after depositing 1-5" totals. Bluffton, Iowa up near the Minnesota border racked up 5.5". Here's some totals that have come in so far. Most of the accumulations were north of a line from Mason City to Madison and on to Milwaukee.

Here's a couple pictures. The first is from Mankato, Minnesota where 2" fell.

The second is just outside of La Crosse, Wisconsin. 3 to 4" here.

South of the clipper's track the sun has poked out and it's actually a decent day over much of my area.

In fact, temperatures have soared to the mid 50s in my southern counties, especially near and south of I-80. At the same time my northern counties are around 30-32 degrees. It will take a couple more hours, but the cold will win out and eventually surge south and overtake the entire area by evening.

Come the morning a brisk NW wind will be ushering in these temperatures.

Readings won't go up much during the day Thursday with highs projected to look like this.

Unfortunately it will feel more like this factoring in the wind chills.

Even worse, this is not the worst of the cold. That comes in Sunday night and early next week.
To give you and idea of how unpleasant that will be here's the projected lows next Tuesday.

Here's the wind chills Tuesday morning. Zero to 10 below. Oh joy! Scattered flurries or snow showers will likely attend the cold air. Nothing more than a dusting.

Well that's enough good news for now. Happy hump day and roll weather...TS
