There are still a lot of people without power. There is extensive building, home, tree, power line, crop damage in Iowa. There is a lot of cleanup that needs to happen in the Midwest. Especially in Iowa.

Some of you are here. Some of you may be nearby. Some of you may be reading this out of the state. I am here. In Cedar Rapids. The second largest city in the state had damage to most (if not all) of it's homes. Had power knocked out to the entire city. Not everyone got rain on Sunday, but some areas did and that's great news. We are in need of rain across the state of Iowa in particular where dry to extreme drought conditions exist right now.

There's no denying it -- we need rain! There is a chance Sunday and Monday for rain, but there are some disagreements on how it happens. First let's talk about the continued heat on Sunday.

Temperatures will be back in the 80s to near 90 degrees in the afternoon -

It already feels pretty comfortable outside, especially considering how hot and humid it's been lately. It's going to get even cooler and more comfortable as we head into next week, but first the weekend.

Saturday will have a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures near the normal mark:

 There will be more cloud cover Sunday as a cold front begins to approach the area. That plus the chance for rain will lead to slightly lower temperatures.
