IT'S OUR NATIONAL DAY...

Happy National Weatherperson's Day! A day to celebrate meteorologists, storm chasers, spotters, and weather enthusiasts all across the world.

February 5th is the birthday of one of America's first weather observers, John Jeffries. Jeffries took daily weather observations starting in 1774 and took the first weather balloon observation over London in 1784.

I want to give a shout out to the weather team at KGAN - Justin Roberts, Brandon Marshall and of course Terry Swails. We work every single day to provide the most accurate information for eastern Iowa. We learn from each other and I'm so grateful for this team. Here's to another year of interesting weather!
