BACKING DOWN...

The humidity has been hanging around the Midwest for several days. There is going to be a break in the humidity as we get into next week and there will be another round of dry weather. There were showers and thunderstorms in the Midwest this weekend - totals ranged from a half an inch to three inches in spots.

Rainfall Friday --

Rainfall Saturday --

There were a few scattered showers around Sunday, but that didn't add up to much. Unfortunately spots that need the rain the most got missed... again. This is the Drought Monitor as of this past Thursday (prior to the rainfall above) -

It doesn't look like there's going to be much help for the drought conditions in southern Iowa and Missouri this week. Especially in the beginning of the week as some drier air moves in.

Dew points have been high lately (near 70) and a cold front will be moving through on Monday which will drop the dew points. Humidity will back off some late Monday and through the middle of the week. During this time it will feel more comfortable and it will be pretty dry across the Upper Midwest.

Little precipitation through Wednesday - then the humidity comes back as another front moves into the Midwest Thursday. The pattern will get more active toward the second half of the week.

Enjoy the break in humidity on the way!
