SPRING SWINGS... AND SNOW

It is going to be a quiet and warm start to the week across the Upper Midwest. The week will end quite the opposite...

It was a very spring-like weekend. Temperatures were in the 60s and 70s both Saturday and Sunday accompanied by some thunderstorms to end the weekend. Temperatures will be even warmer Monday without any precipitation around.

It will be dry and a little cooler Tuesday...

Then there will be ups and downs as the strong storm we've been talking about moves through. Precipitation will be likely Wednesday through Friday.

Temperatures will get knocked into the 40s Wednesday, back up into the 60s and 70s Thursday, then into the 30s and 40s Friday.

These numbers will of course change depending on the exact track of the storm. However, there has been more agreement among the models in the last 12 to 24 hours. Here's the snowfall totals from the GFS:

There is a question of where the heaviest snow falls and just how much snow does fall. This is going to be an incredible snow for parts of Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Wisconsin... especially for APRIL! We'll keep updating the latest forecast, but main point here is much of my local area and into Illinois will be out of the snow. There may be some minor accumulations Friday as the storm moves away, but the heaviest snow stays north and west.
