ONTO THE NEXT STORM...

Sunday afternoon wasn't too bad after we got through the cold morning. Temperatures got down well below freezing and a few records were broken, too.

Then the snow melted on Sunday even faster than it fell. Temperatures climbed into the 40s and 50s in the Upper Midwest in the afternoon.

Now the attention will turn away from snow and to several rounds of rain this week. Here's a quick view of the systems coming through Monday to Saturday...

There will be a boundary that sits in the Midwest and several systems will ride along it over the course of the week.

The first system comes in Sunday night through Monday and the heaviest of the rain will fall in southeast Iowa into western Illinois and Missouri.

Rain will wind down in the afternoon and temperatures will climb into the 50s and 60s. Then the next system comes in Tuesday afternoon and evening.

There will be additional chances Thursday and Saturday. Here's a look at the 7 day rainfall totals:

So there's still some uncertainty on the placement on the heavy rain, but heavy rain is likely.
