JUST PASSING THROUGH...

A weak disturbance crossing the Midwest has caused scattered areas of light snow this afternoon and evening. So far the only reports of anything remotely significant have come from the area I thought it would, far NE Iowa and parts of SW Wisconsin. The area near and north of HWY 18 picked up 1 to 2" totals, especially in Clayton and Allamakee Counties. Elsewhere in my region not much more than a dusting has been reported.

Scattered snow showers will continue for a few more hours this evening before ending from west to east by midnight...just passing through. Little if any accumulation is expected. Maybe enough to track a cat in spots. The 3k NAM has this for amounts until it ends late evening.

After that a gradual but sure November thaw works into the Midwest for the weekend. Readings will inch towards (or slightly above) freezing by Friday and should get close to 40 on Sunday. Better, but still short of the normal which by then is close to 45. At least we are headed in the right direction. Roll weather...

CONSIDER THE VALUE PLEASE...

We've had some challenging weather the past few weeks and I hope you noticed how far ahead of the competition TSwails has been in catching the trends of this wintry pattern. It takes a heck of a lot of commitment, passion, and knowledge to do that. This is now my job and that's why I'm asking for a voluntary subscription fee of $12 dollars a year, one dollar a month to keep TSwails going. Together we can create one of the best, most unique, and reliable weather sites in the Midwest. Your contribution of 3 cents a day, allows me to stay free of the corporate world and pour my energy into doing what I do best, forecasting the weather! We hope you see the value and hard work that goes into the site everyday. You support in any way is sincerely appreciated. Thanks and roll weather. To donate click on the secure green box below.
