JUST PASSING THROUGH...

A weak disturbance crossing the Midwest has caused scattered areas of light snow this afternoon and evening. So far the only reports of anything remotely significant have come from the area I thought it would, far NE Iowa and parts of SW Wisconsin. The area near and north of HWY 18 picked up 1 to 2" totals, especially in Clayton and Allamakee Counties. Elsewhere in my region not much more than a dusting has been reported.

Scattered snow showers will continue for a few more hours this evening before ending from west to east by midnight...just passing through. Little if any accumulation is expected. Maybe enough to track a cat in spots. The 3k NAM has this for amounts until it ends late evening.

After that a gradual but sure November thaw works into the Midwest for the weekend. Readings will inch towards (or slightly above) freezing by Friday and should get close to 40 on Sunday. Better, but still short of the normal which by then is close to 45. At least we are headed in the right direction. Roll weather...
