SLICING AND DICING THE SNOW THREAT...

First and foremost, the weather is currently in a state of change. Colder drier air is moving into my northwestern counties. As it settle southeast tonight it will generate a few snow showers that could produce a dusting in my southern counties, mainly near and south of I-80. A few spots could see up to 1/2" accumulation and the most likely area for that would be from HWY 34 south.

Snow tomorrow is likely to develop late in my far southern counties and then spread northeast during the night. The dry air I mentioned across the NW half of my area is going to make it tough to snow much (if at all) northwest of a line from Keosaukua to Muscatine on to near Sterling. East of there totals will gradually go up and some 3-4" totals are possible in my far eastern counties in Illinois. The Quad Cities is on the hook for 1-2" assuming everything holds tight the next 24 hours.

The NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for some of my southern counties for noon Wednesday to noon Thursday. Here, snow totals of 1-3" are possible, maybe 4" on a line from Macomb to Princeton. These are the 18Z snowfall forecasts from the EURO and GFS. My model of choice the EURO.
