HERE WE GO AGAIN....

We finally got a warm day under our belts on Sunday! Temperatures got into the 70s for the first time in a week and a half. This was ahead of a cold front, which sparked showers and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening.

The cold front will continue to move through Monday and temperatures will be slightly cooler..

The front will stall out to the south of Iowa and lead to even cooler temperatures... See what happens by Wednesday afternoon:

During this time (Monday to Thursday) there will be periods of rain, some heavy at times.

Scattered showers and storms will be possible Monday morning and night and Tuesday night. The higher chance for rain will come Wednesday and Thursday - that is when heavy rain will be most likely. With the cooler temperatures, instability will be low and there won't be many strong storms. This continues the delayed start to tornado season around the Upper Midwest. There have been a few tornadoes, but none in Iowa so far this season.

This is the time of year severe weather starts to become more likely further north, but the cooler air will keep the higher chances for severe storms in the south this week. We will have to continue to keep an eye on the rivers and flooding with incredibly saturated grounds and more rain coming...
