THE HEAT IS ON....

No doubt you stepped outside this weekend and you could feel the air! It's the air you can wear... dew points were in the 70s and just made it feel downright nasty. Combine that with temperatures in the 80s and 90s and it felt like this...

Oof! The heat continue on Sunday with temperatures back well above normal:

Then we add in the humidity and it will once again feel like a swamp outside:

The heat and humidity is expected to stick around through the first week of July. Check out the dew points on the GFS through Friday:

There will be some isolated storms with all this heat and moisture around (as was the case Saturday). The bulk of the thunderstorm activity will be in the overnight hours and it will be difficult to determine the exact track of these systems... here's a look at the hi-resolution NAM for Sunday through Tuesday:

As the upper level ridge starts to break down during the middle of the week, the storm track will shift further south.

Rain chances will be elevated Wednesday through the end of the week.. and we'll have to keep an eye on the 4th of July.
