FROM SWEATY TO SWEATER WEATHER...
We ended September toasty and October is off to a hot start! Records were once again broken - Cedar Rapids hit 90° for the first time in October since 2006 and the record for October 1st was broken.
The warmth will continue during the beginning of the week as a big ridge of high pressure sits in overhead:
Temperatures will be in the 80s to near 90 degrees Monday (likely a bit higher than what this model is showing):
We'll remain mild Tuesday ahead of a cold front:
A cold front will lead to scattered showers and storms Tuesday night into early Wednesday:
That will send cooler air in to the region -- bringing us sweater weather!
Temperatures will be held in the 70s Wednesday:
And even cooler on Thursday:
We'll have some chilly nights ahead that might have you grabbing a sweater! Relief is on the way if you're sweating!
