A NICE TASTE OF REALITY....

Winter has been MIA lately with just a few cold nights and some flurries scattered about between October and November. The real story has been the recent warmth this fall. To start December temperatures have been well above normal, mainly in the 50s.

We now have colder air draining in and that's going to bring a reality check to the Midwest to start the week:

Temperatures on Monday will not only be closer to reality but below normal for this time of year for the first time in nearly two weeks -

In addition to the colder air, we're going to have very strong winds throughout the day. Wind gusts will be around 30 to 45 mph:

Monday night into Tuesday morning we'll drop down into the teens:

Temperatures stay below freezing on Tuesday afternoon as well:

There is a chance for snow on Tuesday with a weak disturbance coming through, but models have been wishywashy on how exactly it pans out. The European model is showing the snow hugging northern Iowa:

The GFS is further to the south and more widespread:

There is another chance at seeing some precipitation late in the week but the details are still too fuzzy to know for certain. Terry will clarify that in the next post. We definitely in for a taste of reality this week though! RK

PLEASE SUPPORT TSWAILS...

Hi everybody, I'm asking that those of you who find value in the site to consider a $12 dollar voluntary subscription covering operating expenses and the time and effort I put into the site. My $12 dollar asking fee is the cost of a pizza or a dozen donuts. Those are gone in a day, TSwails.com is here for you all year long. It's a heck of a value and all I'm asking is that if you enjoy the site and see value in it, that you please consider a voluntary subscription. I'm asking $12.00 dollars a year. That's $1 dollar a month or 3 cents a blog if you consider the fact there were 450 posts issued over the past year. The site requires a significant commitment of time and resources, every donation, whatever the size is deeply appreciated. I just need a little help from those of you who can swing it. If in any way you are unsatisfied with the content of TSwails, you can take advantage of my unconditional refund. Click on the link below if you can help the cause or need additional information. I thank you for your support and consideration. Terry
