SNOWMAGEDDON

One last post before I hand over the reigns to Nick the rest of the weekend. Finally, a breather! With snow pretty much confined to flurries in the south, light to moderate bands will taper off by midnight in the north where another inch is possible.
The next issue will be wind which will increase after midnight, reaching gusts as high as 35 mph. That is likely to produce significant blowing and drifting, especially in the NW half of my area, particularly in the open country.
Here are snow totals from the Iowa Mesonet. Some of these have not been updated for several hours. In general, big numbers, especially for November. It is likely that Dubuque and Cedar Rapids in my area had there the largest single day snow in November history. Snow snowmageddon!

Some additional reports, again some not very recent.

That's where I will leave it. From my perspective, it was a successfully executed forecast. I will sleep well tonight! Roll weather and thank you for making Tswails.com your weather source...TS
