THE HIGHS AND LOWS...

There will be an unsettled start to the week as a front sits at the surface and a big low pressure system in the upper levels of the atmosphere:

This will lead to additional scattered showers and storms, similar to what we saw on Sunday, and probably a bit more coverage than what this model is showing:

Temperatures will be near 80 and it will be a bit more humid:

Another toasty day Tuesday:

Additional scattered showers and storm Tuesday afternoon and evening as the cold front pushes through:

The cold front will push through and high pressure moves in at the surface. In the upper levels there will be northwest flow initially, leading to lower temperatures and lower humidity. Dew points go from around 70 Tuesday to more tolerable levels by Thursday:

High pressure then moves overhead by the end of the week, leading to hotter temperatures.

We're going to have mostly dry conditions the rest of the week and into the weekend. Here's a look at the temperature trend for the next 10 days for the Quad Cities:

And Cedar Rapids:

Humidity will be going back up over the weekend into early next week.
