JUST A BRIEF BREAK....
Storms will move through Sunday night with a cold front and this system will finally be on it's way. Thankfully eastern Iowa and western Illinois were spared from the worst of the storms, with tornadoes wrecking havoc in Oklahoma overnight into Sunday morning:
There was some decent widespread rain in the area, with some locally higher amounts south of I-80 (only through Sunday morning):
Storms will move out of the regional by Monday morning and clouds may linger for the majority of the day. Temperatures will be held back as a result, but could end up a few degrees warmer if the sun comes out Monday afternoon:
Tuesday will be sunny and toasty with temperatures back in the 70s:
This is ahead of a cold front that will be moving in Tuesday night. Storms will begin out in western Iowa, where they're expected to be stronger:
Storms will be weakening as they head east and will continue to move through quickly overnight.
Rain will be gone by Wednesday morning, but another storm system will move in and lead to the chance for rain Wednesday night through much of Thursday:
