TAKING A "SPRING BREAK"....

Usually around spring break it's... not snowing so much. But we know that winter can follow us into March and April. So it seems that we are taking a break from spring at the moment. As of 8 pm on Saturday much of Iowa has seen snow... parts of central Iowa getting 6-8" from the weekend clipper:

Even in the local area an additional 1-3" of the white gold! Well, slushy gold....

Sometimes these clippers can be robust... and especially after Thursday's storm cooled things down it allowed for more accumulation, especially on the roads.

Snow will wind down into Sunday and it will be a cool finish to the weekend:

Monday will be chilly as well, with temperatures running over 10 degrees below normal:

The sun comes out and we're back above freezing on Tuesday afternoon:

And by Wednesday spring TRIES to show up:

I say tries because Thursday into Friday there will be a storm system that moves into the Midwest:

Thursday will remain mild but temperatures will likely drop back down Friday and into the weekend and end up below normal once again. So, it really is "spring break" just more of spring... taking a break from us.
