WINTER STORM WARNINGS CONTINUE...
After a lull in the action, snow is beginning to increase again over my area as the second and final phase of the storm takes shape. Moderate to heavy snow at times will continue in most areas through evening. This if the Davenport Doppler at 2:30pm.

Through 2:30pm here are some snow reports from the Iowa mesonet.

Here's a larger perspective of the Midwest.

The remainder of the storm additional snow of 2-6 (perhaps 7) inches is likely before it ends late tonight. The heaviest will fall north of I-80 due to the 850mb circulation passing through southeast Iowa into NE Illinois. The best forcing (focused on that area), will generate a nice deformation band where snowfall rates will be more significant than in the south. The first phase of the storm was more impacted by warm air advection, (warm moist air being pulled over the cold air at the surface).

The 18z HRRR indicates this for additional snowfall the remainder of the storm.

All in all, most areas should end up with 9–12 inches of snow, with some local spots potentially getting 13–14 inches where banding occurs. Traveling is difficult in many parts of Iowa with some reports of 5 foot drifts near Joice and Manly, Iowa.
My dog Nimbus is as crazy about snow as me. He has spent the majority of his day catching and eating snowflakes. He notes the early season November ones are especially tasty. Roll weather.
