GOOD RIDDANCE MARCH...
Scattered showers and thunderstorm have been roaming the area since Tuesday night. Due to the complex interaction of forcing and phasing, precipitation has been on again, off again as the storm slowly gains maturity. Rain expanded in coverage Wednesday evening and now is in the process of mixing with or changing to snow as colder air is drawn into the intensifying storm. Doppler estimates of precipitation totals look like this through early Wednesday evening. Thursday morning

THE KITCHEN SINK...
A complex interaction of energy will drive the development of a strong midweek storm the next 24 hours. The system is complex in that multiple pieces of energy will consolidate in such a way as to transfer (or hand-off energy) from an initial wave to a secondary one that becomes the alpha storm later Wednesday or Wednesday night. The end result is a deep low pressure that brings a wide variety of weather to the Midwest the next 24 hours (what I would call the kitchen sink). T

Tuesday will be dry to start and temperatures will warm up as a warm front approaches: As a storm system moves through there will be the chance for showers and thunderstorms late Tuesday into Wednesday: The Storm Prediction Center has ou

SUNSHINE FOR NOW...
This weekend is quite the difference from last weekend. A week ago we were talking about 50s, 60s, and 70s. On Saturday a lot of us were stuck in the 30s! But we finally got some sunshine! This came after several days of clouds, rain, and snow. Sunday will be sunny but still chilly -- Clouds will begin moving back in though on Monday ahead of our next storm system: We'll be slightly warmer but still cool for Monday afternoon: We'll be clouded over and still below normal on Tu
