TRANSITION DAY...
We had ourselves an eventful day of weather Thursday with active showers and a few thunderstorms and temperatures that were at the highest levels of the new year. Keokuk soared to 61 degrees and Ft. Madison was right behind at 59. Readings at 6:00 in the evening were still as warm as 52 as far north as Dubuque. Dew points were exceptionally high in southeast Iowa and WC Illinois, at one point reaching the upper 50s. That's not a common sight to see January 8th. My climate GUR

A BUCKETFUL OF WEATHER

Heavy rain, up to an inch. Mild temperatures, near 60 far southeast. Saturday: Snow or rain changing to snow. Several inches of accumulation possible, especially in the northwest. S

The GFS The EURO Here was my response to those of you who read my post: I'm solid with the idea of the warmth for about 7 days. Then I think, what about the following 7 days. It's common knowledge that the further o

Confidence in the actual strength of the storm system is limited, but the likelihood of a system continues to increase. The 24-hour European Ensemble precipitation output shows a rather large area of rain/snow, but this will continue to shrink as the exact path of the system comes into better agreement.
