Terry's in the hospital looking like an Oompa Loompa straight from the storyline of Willy Wonka. (A better description may be "Fifty Shades of Yellow.) He is sporting two IV's in the hope of bringing down the infection in his gallbladder to buy time until surgery is a less risky option.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Nimbus, the newest member of the Swails family, is stricken with a bad case of diarrhea. Yup. Came home to find the puppy in his crate coated with runny poo. Scrubbed him down and the crate and bedding. He finally gets dry and the toilet overflows upstairs. (WHAT!) You can't make this stuff up. I used every single towel in the house to mop up the mess. Which would have not been such a huge issue if I had not attempted to fix the problem on my own. (That resulted in the toilet overflowing a second time...oops.)

The toilet distracted me from the puppy who is not housebroken yet. (Did I mention he has diarrhea?) Yes, the score is now 2 (Nimbus) and 4 (me). So I am winning, but still cleaning up messes. I took him outside throughout the night every hour on the hour.

When it appeared the flow from his bottom was decreasing, I relaxed around 6:00 a.m. until I realized I had to get Eden to school by 7:00 a.m. for a special activity.

Today the rainbow began to edge out a bit. I contacted a plumber and the toilet is now fixed. The pup goes to the vet (wellness check), and it's a timely visit what with the diarrhea and all.

The rainbow came out in full glory when Terry called with the news his levels decreased overnight and he'll be released today. The surgery to remove his gallbladder has been postponed until May. The doctors really want him on his heart meds to get the best benefit from risk of stroke.

Eden is over the moon, she had a difficult time leaving him last night not knowing what the day would bring.

Life is unpredictable. It's a good thing I don't know what coming down the pike otherwise I might crawl into a small space and refuse to budge. But I guess in the end, you are stronger than you think.

Thank you again for all your well wishes, prayers, and support. It is difficult to express how amazing it is to see all your messages and thoughts. T and I very, very much appreciate you all.
