LIKE THIEVES IN THE NIGHT...WHY WAS TERRY SWAILS DRIVING ALL NIGHT LONG!

While you were sleeping, the intrepid storm chasers of the Tswails.com 2018 "Into The Storm Chase" were on the hunt. Undaunted by the hour, the crew of seven steadily pursued their dreams through a moonless sky into the wee hours of the morning.

Seven men deeply passionate about weather. Seven men with the same goal. Seven men ready. To witness Mother Nature Unplugged. For each and every one of them, this is truly the most wonderful time of the year.

So while you were dreaming safe in your beds, this crew of seven peered out through windows into the pitch black night rocketing through time and space wondering if their perseverance would pay off.

It will be close to 4:00 in the morning before we would call it quits. The destination... Omaha, Nebraska. The game plan for later today is to place ourselves in central Nebraska. It’s expected the show will begin late in the afternoon..around 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. There’s potential for huge chunks of hail, severe wind, and the possibility of a tornado. We are definitely going to get on some super cells with good bone structure. The supermodels of the weather world. According to chase veteran, Kholby Martin, the models are showing capes of upwards to 5,000. Which should make for a very unstable environment. Like shaking up a bottle of soda and then popping of the top. Anything could happen.

This year we are once again riding in style thanks to our good friends at Dahl Ford in Davenport, Iowa. Our storm chariot is 15-seat passenger wagon with seats that tilt back, individual air vents, and surround sound. Just amazing. Thank you KV!

Now to introduce to the 2018 chase team. First up is Kholby Martin, veteran storm chaser who bagged his first hurricane last year when he captured Hurricane Irma coming ashore in Florida. Then we have Jesse Risley who is also a veteran storm chaser. Jesse has more than 200 tornadoes under his belt and we are pleased to have him with us. Our good friend, Jesse Vaniseghem, who hails from Orion, Illinois is also back with us this year. Blaine Hilton, also a respected Tswails.com team member is back along with Scott Haynes. Joe Page is our newest chase member from Iowa City,. Terry Swails, the Weather Dude, and myself.

The start of a chase is always a time of barely repressed excitement. Each chase is a unique and an unforgettable experience. They are like snowflakes. No two are alike. Each member of this team clearly understands…no one ...no one...can truly predict what the next few days will bring.

So while you rest until the morning light, the Tswails.com chase team is on fire and ready to go.

Carolyn
