HEAVY SNOW BAND UP FOR GRABS.....

The morning runs of the models were not especially helpful in regards to refining the snow band with Sunday's storm. Due to that uncertainty there have not been any changes to the winter storm watches previously issued.

To be blunt, the heavy snow band is up for grabs! When you see the various forecasts you'll understand why. Lets take a look.

The GFS

The GFS FV3

The 3k NAM

The NAM

The EURO

A larger Midwest perspective of the EURO.

The differences are glaring, especially over my local area where amounts in Cedar Rapids are shown ranging from 13" to less than an inch. New data will be coming in late this afternoon and that will hopefully tighten the model spread.

Winter storm watches may be altered and at some point warnings will be issued. The cut-off to the northern edge of the snow swath will be very sharp and a 50-75 mile shift north or south on any model will make a big impact. What we do know is that where it does snow it begins early Sunday and ends Sunday night. Traveling will be difficult within the snow band. Stay tuned for updates! Roll weather...TS
