SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE...
I have some updates to the severe weather risk across the Upper Midwest today. There has been persistent cloud cover and rain in eastern Iowa. The risk is lower in eastern Iowa, but now greater across Illinois and into Indiana.
In the enhanced (orange) area is where the tornado risk will be highest today near and south of the warm front. Storms will begin to develop in eastern Iowa around 1-2 pm and move east of the Mississippi. Large hail and strong winds will be possible as well.
A Tornado Watch has been issued and there have already been confirmed tornadoes in southeast Iowa.
