CHASE PIC OF THE DAY...

THE GROVE INTO THE STORM CHASE PIC OF THE DAY

All the bad luck we've had finding storms the past 3 years was made up for this year with multiple supercells and all modes of severe weather, (wind, hail, flooding, and tornadoes). In today's chase pic of the day sponsored by the Grove Bar and Grill you can see hail covering the road east of Holyoak, Colorado. Most of this hail was less that the size of quarters but just ahead we knew from radar and storm spotters it was much bigger, some chunks the size of tennis balls. We and many others pulled over to let the core pass instead of damaging our Dahl Ford chase vehicle. We heard multiple reports of windows being broken out of vehicles within the area.

You can see why when you take a look at the size of these stones we found along the road when we resumed moving east after the core passed.

One of the larger ones I found was bigger than a grade A large chicken egg. Thought I would give it a taste. Cold and bland!

When we collected the hail we were all wearing coats as the temperature dropped from the mid 70s to the low 50s with a stiff wind. Fun with storms. Roll weather...TS

P.S. The Grove Bar and Grill in Scotch Grove is a perfect place to relax, dine, and refresh yourself. It's off the beaten path and Brandon and Madalyn will treat you like family. Tell em T.Swails sent you
