The active pattern has begun. This weekend rain began to fall starting Saturday and continued into Sunday. Here's a look at the rainfall totals Saturday into Sunday morning -

Now there will be additional chances for rain - likely coming more in the form of thunderstorms as the temperatures warm up. As a warm front lifts north Sunday night into Monday there will be a few showers and storms. Monday afternoon will be warm and humid.. here's a look at the high temperatures:

And the humidity will be much higher - dew points will be high and lead to an uncomfortable feeling outside. Also an indicator of moisture being high.

Here's a look at the rounds of rain that will come through Monday into Tuesday morning -

Some storms on Monday could be strong. Here's a look at the outlook from the Storm Prediction Center -

There's still some uncertainty in the placement of the warm front on Monday afternoon/evening, but wind shear is expected to be strong and will result in the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms. Hail would be the primary concern with the potential for some isolated tornadoes in the yellow ("slight risk") area.

There will be additional chances for storms through the week in the Upper Midwest as a boundary hangs in the area.

The warm, muggy conditions will continue through Thursday until the boundary finally moves south. Drier air will move in for the end of the week and the weekend, but there may be another warm up next week.

Summer ain't over til it's over! RK
