NEW 18Z SNOWFALL OUTPUT ...
PLEASE JOIN US FOR A NEW EDITION OF WEATHER SCHOOL: SEVERE STORMS 101
We have a brand new weather school planned for April 4th. This one is called Severe Storms 101. If you want to know more about the ins and outs of severe thunderstorms and how to forecast them this will be a great introductory session. There will be event simulations and a big focus on tornadoes. Some tips on chasing them as well. Aside from that there will be in depth focus on the 1968 EF5 Charles City tornado outbreak, the Parkersburg EF5 of 2008, and the rare mid-November EF4 Washington, Illinois twister that occurred November 17, 2013. Lots of compelling video and insights presented by 3 meteorologists. Contact Carolynswettstone@yahoo.com to sign up or click on the more details button in the graphic above to find out more!
18Z MODEL RUN SNOWFALL OUTPUT
Here's the latest model runs showing the raw output depicting snowfall totals. These are not mean't to be forecasts and there is no human intervention. This is simply model guidance that allows forecasters to observe trends and create forecasts.
So far no major changes from the previous 12Z runs. Something to build on. It's also eye candy for me!
The EURO
The GFS ensemble...only a 10:1 ratio
The GFS operational
The 12K NAM...this only goes out through Tuesday at Midnight. There is still another 6 hours of snow to come in some spots
Once again, data gets better sampled with time and if we are still seeing numbers like this Sunday evening we need to start thinking seriously about a major impact winter storm. Until next time...roll weather...TS
