DRY AND MILD WEEK AHEAD....

The weather recently has been pretty quiet, despite a lot of ups and downs in the temperatures. Usually when you have a lot of ups and downs in the temperatures the pattern is active... but that just hasn't been the case lately due to a lack of moisture. Precipitation has been below normal across the Upper Midwest for November:

Due to the back and forth in our temperatures we're pretty much coming out near normal as a result:

Temperatures are gong to remain on the mild side this week and the sensible weather will continue on the dry side due to the moisture starved upper level pattern:

The orange/red is a ridge, which is pulling in warmer air. Those lines are also coming in from the northwest, indicating flow coming from that direction. Northeast flow typically leads to drier weather, cutting the off the feed of our moisture who's source is of the Gulf of Mexico.

So when we look at the precipitation totals for the next seven days... little to nothing!

And when we look even further out it looks like the first half of December may be on the drier side:

Temperature wise we'll continue to see ups and downs, but it does look like we'll be above normal more than below. Here's a look at the 10-day trend for Cedar Rapids:

And the Quad Cities:

We know winter will show up eventually.. so let's enjoy it while it lasts! RK

A MESSAGE FROM TERRY...

Dear friends of the site, I still need some help. My 2021 fund raiser to keep TSwails.com going is about 17 people short of reaching my goal of covering my operating expenses. My $12 dollar asking fee is the cost of a pizza or a dozen donuts. Those are gone in a day, TSwails.com is here for you all year long. It's a heck of a value and all I'm asking is that if you enjoy the site and see value in it, that you please consider a voluntary subscription. I'm asking $12.00 dollars a year. That's $1 dollar a month or 3 cents a blog if you consider the fact there were 450 posts issued over the past year. The site requires a significant commitment of time and resources, every donation, whatever the size is deeply appreciated. I just need a little help to cover the expenses. If in any way you are unsatisfied with the content of TSwails, you can take advantage of my unconditional refund. Click on the link below if you can help the cause or need additional information. I thank you for your support and consideration. Terry
