IT'S GONNA BE MAY....

As *NSYNC says...

May is usually filled with blooming flowers, warm weather, and spring thunderstorms. Currently we're waiting on spring to show it's face... and we need the storms to stay away to allow the Mississippi River to fall back down to normal levels:

Thankfully there won't be much heavy rain that will lead to issues on the Mississippi with little to no rain over the next week in much of the region:

There may be some heavy rain in far southeastern Iowa-- which we'll have to keep an eye on. The track of this system could still change:

To start the week we'll have clouds and breezy conditions Monday with temperatures running below normal:

Temperatures will bump up a little Tuesday with more sunshine and still breezy conditions:

We'll be sunny and seasonal by Wednesday:

And it'll be feeling nice on Thursday!

Eventually the pattern will change and break with more daylight and warmer temperatures through the month. Severe weather does also become more common around this time of the year as well, but perhaps we can hold off a little longer on the strong storms.
