MELT BABY MELT....

It's been quite a change around these parts after snow fell over two weeks ago. Last week temperatures bordered on records and wind chills dropped into the 30s and 40s below zero on Tuesday morning:

Sunday afternoon temperatures were up 80 degrees warmer! Snow was melting left and right as temperatures ballooned into the 40s and 50s:

Another disturbance will bring some showers on Wednesday:

Despite these systems, a ridge will be in place through much of the week in the upper levels. This will lead to the mild conditions and the melting persisting.

Here are the highs for the week on the Euro, which may be a few degrees too low, for the Quad Cities:

And for Cedar Rapids:

Signals then point toward cooler weather during the first week of March and potentially a cooler, more active pattern in the second week.

For now we're melting away... PS If you have a few dollars to spare, we'd appreciate it! Meteorologist Rebecca Kopelman.
