The opportunities for rain recently have not been very fruitful for everyone. Just look at the rain that fell on Sunday...

Very light or no rain for parts of the area. Cedar Rapids' airport one again misses out on the rain. Dry air in the mid-levels of the atmosphere is likely to blame, eating away at the precipitation.

There's not been any measurable rain through the 22nd of the month, which has never happened. If this continues, 2024 would be the first September without any measurable rainfall in Cedar Rapids.

The Quad Cities has had a little more rain, but if things stay on the dry track then 2024 will end up in the top 10 driest as well.
