After a week of rain, storms (some strong) and clouds there's going to be some quiet and pretty nice weather for the upcoming week. Take a look at the widespread rain over the last week in the region:

High pressure will be in control at the surface, as well as in the upper levels, for much of the week ahead. That will contribute to the quiet weather:

As a result, there won't be much precipitation over the next week:

Temperatures will be close to normal for much of the week as well, with nothing to lead to much change. Here's the trend for Cedar Rapids:

And the Quad Cities:

During the week humidity will remain relatively low, but it will still be toasty under sunny skies. Humidity will be noticeable but tolerable:

By the weekend, the heat and humidity will start to build and we'll be back to the dog days of summer:

Enjoy the nice, calm weather for now!
