TAKES A LICKING, KEEPS ON TICKING...

I NEED YOUR HELP TO MEET OPERATING EXPENSES

THE FUTURE OF THE SITE DEPENDS ON YOU.

Hi everyone, as you know, TSwails.com is a no-pay site; existing on voluntary subscriptions or personal donations. If you find value in the site, I'm asking kindly that you make the donation you feel is worthy. I'm suggesting $20.00, roughly a nickel a day. Less than 5% of my readers donate, so your gift is not only appreciated, it helps immensely. Your contribution, whatever you can swing, supports the content, infrastructure, and operational costs. Thanks for anything you can do!

THE BEAT GOES ON, THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSED TO...

Friday I spent the better part of the day at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids where I underwent ablation surgery on my heart. Some people have plumbing issues, mine are electrical. My spark plugs are not firing properly, causing my engine (heart) to misfire, making it irregular. My mechanic, heart surgeon Dr. Farid, was called in to do critical repairs.

Thanks to him and his skills, a catheter, and a great team, he was able to rewire the upper-left chamber of my heart. In just over two hours time, my irregular heartbeat was transformed to one that now "gets the beat", the way it was designed to. I'm ready to dance baby!

Here's what an old weatherman looks like after coming out of surgery. Relieved, but pretty rough around the edges. Nothing like a green gown to bring out the red in a man's eyes. You should have seen me with the blue surgery hat on. Shut the front door...

The heart monitor below proves I'm back on a steady beat pace. I took a licking, but I'm back to ticking. My gratitude to all of you who expressed your concern and support in texts, emails, and social media messages. I'm humbled and heartened. Thank you!

IS A BIG SWING BACK TO WINTER WEATHER IN THE WORKS?

It truly has been a tiring day, so I will leave you with this. It's the 7-day temperature departures for the period February 15th through March 7th. (That's the 3-week period I indicated in my previous post would be prime for a winter comeback).

February 15-22nd

February 22-February 29th.

February 29th-March 7th

The premise of my previous post was that teleconnections were strongly pointing towards another big pattern reversal around mid-February, and it was just a matter of time before the deterministic models caught on. Well, at least for Friday, the EURO got the message. Check out this 500mb jet structure, February 19th. That has frigid written all over it (if it comes to pass).

The 30-day mean snowfall shown on the EURO extended control for the period February 10th through March 12th.

We're still a couple of weeks away, so there are plenty of details that could change which would alter the strength of the cold and amounts of snow, in other words this is very preliminary. That said, what a run for a winter comeback. Time for meds. Roll weather...TS P.S. Please consider a donation to the site. The future of TSwails depends on your generous contributions. Thanks for anything you can do!
