WATCHING THE TRENDS....
Surely you've been hearing all about the potential winter storm heading our way this week. It's way too soon to get into the nitty gritty details but we can certainly watch the trends. Here's a great graphic from the National Weather Service out of the Quad Cities showing just that:

Big bottom line is that this system will likely impact travel right before the Christmas weekend. The other big bottom line is it's going to get BRUTALLY cold. So let's begin.
Sunday will be sunny - finally - but also very cold with the snow that is on the ground:

Temperatures will creep up a bit on Monday as a cold front approaches:

There's now a higher chance of snow with this front Monday afternoon into the night:

Snowfall totals of a few tenths of an inch to an inch and a half possible through the region, lesser amounts toward the southeast:

This front will begin to usher in colder air... highs on Tuesday:

And Wednesday:

That cold being in place is step one for the late week winter storm. The snow will begin moving in Wednesday night into Thursday -- this could include heavy snow and very strong winds.

I'm not going to get into the numbers but this could be a very high impact storm right before the holidays. We'll continue to watch the trends and update you as we get a clearer picture.
