TORNADO HITS MY HOUSE!

Well, they say life is a bowl of cherries but I got one with a pit in it. Last night a tornado rolled through my old neighborhood in Port Byron. My house which is still up for sale was grazed. I think it’s in decent shape structurally but I lost lots of trees and from what I hear the place is a mess. Debris covering the yard with parts of the neighbors roof, shingles, insulation, trees, and leaves covering the front yard and driveway. I am on my way to the house to begin the clean up process. God willing the power will be back on soon.

I can tell you there were several houses in my hood that lost roofs and had extensive damage. My next door neighbor lost his roof, had windows and doors blown out. Many more lost the precious trees which is the reason we were attracted to the area in the first place. So sad. However, I am thankful that no one was hurt and my heart goes out to my friends and neighbors who will have to clean up and replace what was taken away.

I can honestly tell you I never thought my house would be hit by a tornado. The odds of winning the lottery are better! It just goes to show you that you never know, and that even meteorologists are not immune to wrath of nature. My respect for weather grows greater everyday. Still rolling…TS
