QUICK BURST OF SNOW FOR SOME....
I just got back from Madison and while this is late it is better than nothing, which is what I'm seeing on a lot of forecasts. Rain is quickly transitioning to snow over parts of my area and a quick 1-3" will be possible by early evening. As I mentioned yesterday, it seems the heaviest axis will roughly be along and 30 miles either side of a line from SW of Cedar Rapids to Dubuque and NE of Madison. This is what the EURO shows for total snowfall before it ends this evening.
The wet snow will create hazardous travel conditions, especially as temperatures cool even more towards sunset. It is possible some advisories could be issued for the areas I outlined above. That would be roughly north of a line from Iowa City to Rockford. Stay safe and have a happy New Year!
