FLIP FLOPPING...

After a 90 degree day Saturday, temperatures were held to near 70 on Sunday. With clear skies and dry air, temperatures will drop down toward 40 by Monday morning - quite the flip flop:

In fact, there's portions of the Upper Midwest under Frost Advisories:

The week ahead will be sunny and dry with little to no precipitation over the next 7 days:

High pressure will be in place and temperatures will gradually warm through the week. Here's a look at the temperature trend for Cedar Rapids:

And Quad Cities:

Check out the upper level pattern through this timeframe.. the oranges representing a ridge (warmer weather) and blues representing a trough (cooler, potentially stormy weather):

Ridges dominate this week with some cooler weather toward the middle of the month with some continued back and forth until the end of the month.

Perhaps then fall will show up...
