GETTING BACK TO IT....

We've had a few mostly dry days and now it's turning hotter, more humid, and more active. It will start Sunday with a wave moving through. A few showers will be possible early Sunday morning with more in the afternoon:

It will be another warm and humid day with temperatures in the 80s, held back some with the rain and clouds:

Additional thunderstorms will move through Sunday night into Monday morning with a complex of storms. There's some uncertainty on the placement and intensity, but here's a look at the HRRR:

Some storms could be strong with strong winds, but is highly dependent on the timing and location. There is a broad level 1 out of 5 risk (marginal) for severe weather posted right now:

The active pattern will continue due to the ring of fire pattern setting up. The fire - hot air - will lead to warm, humid conditions. The hot air in the upper levels of the atmosphere also suppress thunderstorm activity during the day. Then in the area on the edge of the heat, we see the ring of storms, which tends to happen in the overnight hours.

There could be additional storms Monday night into Tuesday morning:

And more storms are possible Wednesday:

This is a pattern that requires taking things day by day. And when it's not raining it will be hot and humid with heat index values approaching 100 some days.
