A MESSAGE FROM TERRY...

Dear friends of the site, I still need some help. My 2021 fund raiser to keep TSwails.com going is a bit short of where it needs to be. Despite nearly 400 voluntary $12 dollar donations I still do not have my operating expenses covered. My $12 dollar asking fee is the cost of a pizza or a dozen donuts. Those are gone in a day, TSwails.com is here for you all year long. It's a heck of a value and all I'm asking is that if you enjoy the site and see value in it, that you please consider a voluntary subscription. I'm asking $12.00 dollars a year. That's $1 dollar a month or 3 cents a blog if you consider the fact there were 450 posts issued over the past year. The site requires a significant commitment of time and resources, every donation, whatever the size is deeply appreciated. I just need a little help to cover the expenses. If in any way you are unsatisfied with the content of TSwails, you can take advantage of my unconditional refund. Click on the link below if you can help the cause or need additional information. I thank you for your support and consideration.

November has two sides.. you have the late-fall side and the winter side. This week will be seeing shades of both as we continue to ride the temperature roller coaster. You can see the ups and downs by looking at the upper air chart:

The orange/red color indicates a ridge, or an area of high pressure. That's typically associated with more mild air as well as calmer weather. The blue/green indicates a trough, or area of low pressure. That's typically associated with cooler, unsettled weather. What to make note of of these troughs coming through is they aren't particularly strong.

They aren't closed off with a center, so these systems really won't be bringing much in the way of precipitation. There will be the temperature swings though.. and that will lead to the two sides of November. We start with a cool, winter day on Monday, coming behind the storm system on Sunday that brought the real strong winds!

We start to climb back toward the late-fall weather by Tuesday...

And we're nice and mild on Wednesday:

Here's a look at the full 10 day trend from the European model for Cedar Rapids:

And the Quad Cities:

But during that 10-day stretch... little to no precipitation expected:

That does bode well for Thanksgiving travelers on the front end and back end of the holiday!
