A WINTER WONDERLAND
After the big weekend storm and the little dust up we had Monday, it's looking like a winter wonderland around most of the Midwest. I realize there's a large percentage of you who don't appreciate the snow. I however, was thrilled to pick up 14 inches of white gold at my place in Dubuque. And I will say, if there is one redeeming aspect to snow, it's that Christmas lights look 10 times better in a mantel of white. I'm old-fashioned and sentimental about that. Something else

AN ACTIVE, COLD PATTERN SETTLES IN
Quite an inconvenient snow starts again for the area Monday afternoon and evening as a new winter storm starts to take shape. This is the first of a few systems we are watching between now and next weekend with snow chances increasing and cold air really starting to become entrenched. Our first system and the one we have the most confidence in starts sweeping through the area by Monday afternoon. While nowhere near as much snow as the weekend winter storm, this will pack some

ANOTHER SHOT OF SNOW, BITTER COLD
As we dig out from one of the biggest snowfalls for a November day on record in many areas, we are already eyeing the next potential hit of wintry weather in the coming days. One potential problem with this system is that it will likely have impacts on t he Monday evening commute as the tim

SNOWMAGEDDON
One last post before I hand over the reigns to Nick the rest of the weekend. Finally, a breather! With snow pretty much confined to flurries in the south, light to moderate bands will taper off by midnight in the north where another inch is possible. The next issue will be wind which will increase after midnight, reaching gusts as high as 35 mph. That is likely to produce significant blowing and drifting, especially in the NW half of my area, particularly in the open country.

WINTER STORM UPDATE, IT'S WHITE
WINTER STORM WARNINGS CONTINUE... After a lull in the action, snow is beginning to increase again over my area as the second and final phase of the storm takes shape. Moderate to heavy snow at times will continue in most areas through evening. This if the Davenport Doppler at 2:30pm. Through 2:30pm here are some snow reports from the Iowa mesonet. Here's a larger perspective of the Midwest. The remainder of the storm additional snow of 2-6 (perhaps 7) inches is likely before
