WINTER STORM IN PROGRESS....

Snow has spread across most of my area as a winter storm intensifies over Missouri. The Storm Prediction Center sent this mesoscale discussion for snowfall rates of an inch per hour for several hours.

This is the new run of the 3K NAM which cleared at 8:00pm. This is what it shows for total accumulations the rest of the night. The snow will end by early Saturday morning.

Compare that to this snowfall forecast from the NWS out of Des Moines. New data suggests a pocket of lighter accumulations of a couple inches in and near the Quad Cities.

Following the snow, low wind chills are expected Saturday through Sunday morning.
