WINTER MAKES A COMEBACK

After very little snow over the last month and spring in (seemingly) full swing, winter came back this weekend. Snow fell for several hours in parts of the Upper Midwest on Saturday. Snow didn't really accumulate on roads or sidewalks, but snow did pile up on grassy/elevated areas.

Here's a wider video of the Midwest

Temperatures were held down in the 30s as a result. That's a far cry from last weekend with temperatures in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. It's going to be a chilly day Sunday, but a lot of that snow should melt away.

Temperatures will gradually warm as we head into next week. However, ups and downs will continue with an active pattern next week. In general, temperatures look to run near and below normal. Here's the Climate Prediction Center outlook for March 20-24

This comes after a mild start to March, with temperatures running around 10 degrees above normal. High temperatures have been running even warmer than that!

Now we're not going to be freezing cold, but we'll likely be seeing more 40s than 60s and 70s over the next week or so. The next system makes it's way in Wednesday-Thursday.

Temperatures will cool down behind it, but it's too soon for details on the numbers since that's about a week away.
